International Fair for Wood Processing and Furniture Industry

WOOD-TEC – a trade fair with the scent of timber is approaching

After two years once again the Brno Exhibition Centre will be holding the WOOD-TEC International Fair for Wood Processing and Furniture Industry. This special occasion for all wood lovers starts Tuesday October 20th and finishes Friday October 23rd. This year as well the trade fair has something to offer those with an interest in wood.

From the perspective of exhibiting firms, foreign companies and represented brands it will be the biggest since 2009. In the pavilions and adjacent open areas some 300 companies and more than 190 world brands are exhibiting. In 2013 there were 280 companies and 140 world brands. The growth in interest from exhibitors at this year’s trade fair is mainly in the areas of machinery, tools and equipment. Visitors will have a chance to see presented all the major companies, the main players in the market and world brands. They will be presenting not just their existing product portfolio, but a whole range of innovations, trends and new solutions in the already mentioned areas of machinery tools and equipment. A new range of panel saws, a new machining centre with can function without an operator, woodworking machinery with new safety features or granulators for home use – all these can be seen in Pavilion V.

Compared with last year there has been an increase in the number of companies from Slovakia, which will be exhibiting on more than 600m2 of space. In 2013 it was not quite 200m2. This will be the largest foreign participant in the trade fair.

The most up-to-date models of quality metal handles and hangers, modern systems for kitchens and wardrobes and a whole range of other interesting and inspiring solutions in the furniture industry will be on show in Pavilion F.

As part of WOOD-TEC there will be the traditional accompanying programme, which this year has been completely revamped. The centre and main venue of the daily programme will be the WOOD-TEC ARENA in Pavilion F. It is a modern presentation space where a whole range of lectures, seminars and workshops will take place. The thematic content of the programme is conceived so as to provide visitors with up-to-date information concerning new developments and trends in various fields such as legislation or financial and subsidy consultancy. The aim of the programme is to provide visitors with information that is relevant, up-to-date and applicable in their work. Individual exhibitors will also present interesting topics and practical demonstrations in the WOOD-TEC Arena. The WOOD-TEC Arena will also include a meeting point and a press centre.

The WOOD-TEC trade fair is one of the key events of its kind in the Czech and Slovak republics. It is supported by the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers EUMABOIS, which has included it in its calendar of prestigious European events. Firms and companies see participation in WOOD-TEC as an opportunity and a chance to make new contacts and present their products and innovations not only to domestic visitors but also guests from abroad. The trade fair regularly attracts some 12 000 visitors and there is no reason to doubt that this year will be any different. The level of pre-registered visitors, who by registering and purchasing their tickets on-line on the website gain a discount (paying CZK 130 to get in instead of CZK 170) is the same as a this point in previous years.
