The Army will acquire Pandur salvage vehicles for 191 Million

The Army plans to buy salvage vehicles that could be helping for example in Pandur armoured vehicle accidents. The offer, which the Ministry of Defence announced in late September, has an expected value of 191 million. It is based on information published in the Journal of Public Procurement and on answers of the Ministry of Defence.

The department plans to purchase five vehicles; bidders for the contract can apply by 30 October. "These are special heavy-duty salvage vehicles that are intended for direct logistical and technical support of units of the Army of the Czech Republic equipped with Pandur wheeled armoured vehicles and other types of military equipment," said Jana Zechmeisterová from the press department of the Ministry of Defence.

According to her statement, the Vehicles should be used in field conditions or warfare. "Especially in rescue, towing, maintenance, field repairs and technical assistance," she added.

The contract will have an expected value of 191 million excluding VAT. In the past, the Ministry considered the purchase of 11 Tatra vehicles for 600 Million Crowns from the Military Repairs company in Šternberk. The price has been criticized as excessive. According to Zechmeisterová, this call for bids had not been even announced in the past and the number of acquired vehicles was eventually reconsidered.
