Brief characteristics of the exhibit

The new, ultra-compact 3-axis high-speed CNC milling machine DATRON neo (H 188 cm x W 80 cm x D 130 cm, 700 kg) turns out to be a true all-rounder for small batch production and prototyping. Due to its dynamics, it provides a high surface quality, intricate engraving when using small tools, and is ideal for a wide range of applications and millable materials in conventional production and prototype labs. Based on the Plug-and-Play approach even inexperienced machinists can easily control the system due to its control style via swipe gestures similar to a smartphone and the software interface in tile design. Using wizards and an integrated camera, the machine operator is led through the milling programme in just few steps and aided by self-explanatory icons and realistic tools and components shown in 3D for fast identification of various machine functions.
