International Engineering Fair

MSV 2022 will showcase the latest developments in industrial technology

The 63rd season of the MSV International Engineering Fair, which will take place in Brno from 4 to 7 October 2022, will offer companies the opportunity to present innovative industrial technologies and establish new business relationships. Specialized trade fairs IMT, PLASTEX, FOND-EX, WELDING and PROFINTECH will be held concurrently.

"We've noticed increasing interest of companies in presenting themselves at this year's MSV. We also expect the return of those exhibitors who were unable to attend last year's fair due to the pandemic. This confirms that trade fairs are an important business platform for exhibitors," said Michalis Busios, Director of MSV. It has also been confirmed that the French region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes has become the partner of the fair.

Digitalization of industry as the main topic of the fair

Digitalization is one of the priority topics of industrial development. MSV regularly focuses on the use of digital solutions and information technology in manufacturing processes. This year the latest products and services in the field of enterprise digitalization will be presented comprehensively in the special display Digital Factory 2.0. "The aim of the project is to show all the benefits associated with digital transformation, which consist primarily in increasing corporate efficiency. Visitors will see prototypes of smart autonomous machines, learn about the principles of artificial intelligence, and the third annual international conference on the digitalization of industry is also in the pipeline. We also want to expand on the topic of 5G networks," added Busios. The project will include a digital stage with a programme focusing on current issues in the field of industrial digitalization.

Additive manufacturing and investment opportunities

Additive manufacturing will once again be among the key sectors of the MSV International Engineering Fair. Professional 3D printing technologies can significantly increase productivity and are also increasingly affordable for small and medium-sized enterprises. Another highlighted topic will be circular economy. Sustainability is one of the priority parts of industrial development and is becoming an important requirement for keeping businesses competitive. Research, development and technology transfer also have an important place at MSV. The International Engineering Fair is regularly attended by a number of start-ups and emerging businesses. Innovative exhibits will traditionally be presented at the MSV Gold Medal competition.

MSV concurrently with IMT and technology fairs

All key areas of the mechanical and electrical engineering industry are represented at MSV. This year, the IMT fair will be held concurrently, offering a wide range of machining and forming technology. There will also be a quartet of technology fairs – FOND-EX International Foundry Fair, WELDING International Welding Engineering Fair, PLASTEX International Plastics, Rubber and Composites Fair and PROFINTECH International Surface Technology Fair. "Our effort aims to show how innovative technologies are penetrating the fields of specialist trade fairs. Their introduction means a number of changes for traditional industries, which will determine the future shape of the industry," said Michal Svoboda, MSV spokesperson.

The fair is a place for business

The composition of visitors to last year's MSV confirmed the importance of the fair. 90% of the visitors came for business purposes. Moreover, 80% of them participate in the decision-making process in companies. The exhibitors appreciated the visitors' interest in the exhibits presented, and especially the opportunity to establish new business relationships. The MSV International Engineering Fair is also a good place to finalize deals with existing clients. "Direct personal contact is crucial for business in the industrial sectors. However, we also see a trend in the form of the development of the online environment. That is why we are working on developing digital features that will suitably complement the traditional fair format," added Busios.

This year's MSV will be held for four days, from Tuesday to Friday. "We believe that the change in the length of the event will make the fair even more efficient. We have also made this decision based on feedback from exhibitors and expert partners," Busios concluded with information about the format of this year's MSV.
