Red Deer from 1730 will be the star of the trophy exhibition
An
exhibition of unique Czech and Slovak trophies from 1923 will be installed in
Hall G1, however, one of the European deer trophies is two centuries older. The
piece was caught by Eleonore Amalie of Lobkowicz (1682-1741), wife of Adam
Franz Prince of Schwarzenberg (1670-1732), builder of the Ohrada Castle.
Eleonore was an enthusiastic hunter – for example, on 17 September 1732 she shot
32 deer during a canvas hunt in the Včelná reserve on Boubín. Since 1937, this
trophy deer from free hunting grounds has been the strongest in the Czech
Republic.
