Golden Salima for wine-making technology
Six products were registered by exhibitors for the Gold Salima 2014 competition in the engineering products category. The awarded prize was ultimately granted to only one exhibit - microbiological filtration device by Czech manufacturer of stainless steel, NEREZ Blučina.
Roast beef Speciality from Židlochovice
One of the ten Golden Salima awards were given to Židlochovice Roast Beef Speciality by Janíček & Čupa, výroba speciálních uzenin s.r.o.
Golden Salima for fresh milk in a glass bottle
One of this year's ten Golden Salima awards went to BOHEMILK dairy milk for fresh milk in a glass bottle. It is a Czech product from the foothills of Orlické Hory mountains, which Opočenská dairy launched last year.
Czech chocolate with Ecuadorian roots
Čokoládovna Troubelice (Troubelice Chocolate Factory) is a small family company tied with Ecuador - a country of high quality cocoa beans. As a direct importer of raw materials they have recently embarked on making their own chocolate that was awarded the Golden Salima 2014 right at its premiere at the Brno trade fair.
How about some tea cocktail?
The new trend is healthy, environmentally friendly and attractive for bartenders and customers. Tea in non-traditional forms can be tasted in Hall A1 at the stand of Espresso company representing the famous Dilmah tea brand on the Czech market.
Young bakers created a new Czech record
The six competing young bakers tried to break the 2012 record in pleating thirty twists in time at the Brno Exhibition Centre on Thursday.
Czech food is the safest
This statement results from the check-ups of the State Agricultural and Food Inspection Authority (SZPI) realized last year. At the same time, the amount of fines and penalties imposed almost doubled and the trend is to further tighten up. Representatives of SZPI informed about it at a press conference held at SALIMA.

Return of Bulgarian wines
"Bulgarian wine is returning to the Czech market." That is how one could describe in one sentence the message of Georgi Ivanchev, one of the exhibitors at this year's SALIMA trade fair. His stand in Hall A2 presents thirty samples of wines from seven wineries mainly from the Bulgarian Thracian Lowland, a southern wine region of Bulgaria.
SALIMA celebrated its 40th birthday
The first Salima trade fair was launched in Brno on 25 February 1974. Forty years later, the celebration of the anniversary has become part of the inaugural evening of the 29th edition of the food fair and wishes of every success were conveyed by Marian Jurečka, Minister of Agriculture, Food Chamber President Miroslav Toman and other distinguished guests.
