International Stainless Steel Fair

The STAINLESS 2019 trade fair with record attendance

For two days, Hall V of the Brno Exhibition Centre became the crossroads of trade in stainless steel. “STAINLESS has once again confirmed its position as the fair with the largest international participation in the Brno Trade Fairs portfolio,” said Jiří Kuliš, CEO of the company, in his opening address of the 10th edition. The fair welcomed selected clients of a narrowly specialized business. 124 exhibitors from 24 countries dealt with customers who came to Brno from dozens of European and Asian countries.

85% of exhibitors came from abroad. The biggest participation was from Germany - 34 companies, Italy - 12 companies, India - 9 companies and Poland - 9 companies. The Czech Republic was represented by 18 exhibitors. Stainless steel was the most represented product, followed by companies presenting stainless steel metallurgical products; stainless steel machines, equipment, treatment and processing equipment and stainless steel products.

Participants rated the event very positively. They emphasized the quality of domestic and foreign contacts with potential customers and the importance of the fair as a meeting point with representatives of various companies in the industry. For Western European exhibitors, STAINLESS is a gateway to Central and Eastern Europe.

STAINLESS is organized every two years in cooperation with the German partner – the Focus Rostfrei publishing house.

The next STAINLESS International Stainless Steel Fair will take place from 5 to 6 June May 2021.

Quotes about the fair

Marcus Dreischer, Business Manager, Nirotec, Germany
We are particularly satisfied with the quality of our customers. People came to us excellently prepared, knowing precisely what we were doing. I would say more new customers have stopped by than the existing ones. As for nationality, I would say that a third of the clients are from the Czech Republic, the rest from foreign countries such as Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Romania and other Eastern European countries. It is interesting however that people from France or Finland came here as well. It's a very interesting visitor mix. Overall, we are very pleased with the fair.

Jakub Chundela, Business Manager, VALBRUNA GROUP, Czech Republic
We are producers who supply goods to distributors, so mostly Czech clients come to see us. I met my regular customers at Stainless, and I am satisfied. The fair has fulfilled its purpose for me.

Silke Löser, Head of Marketing, STAPPERT, Germany
We have been participating in the Stainless fair for a long time. Over time, we have increased our stand because we are interested in the Czech market. But not only Czech customers came to us, also clients from all over Europe arrived here.

Frank Kniezner, Sales Executive, Walzwerke Einsal, Germany
If I were to evaluate the first day of the fair, it was very successful for me. Many visitors stopped by at our exhibition stand, they were mostly our existing clients. But I like the fact that Stainless saved me from business trips all over the Czech Republic and Slovakia since I meet everyone in one place. I certainly see another contribution of the fair, as it is a gateway to Eastern Europe for us.

Vendula Žůrková, Sales Representative, Strojírny a opravny Milenov, Czech Republic
We are a production company, thus we are mostly visited by suppliers at the fair. So far, we have met mainly with existing clients here. I see our participation in Stainless as a revival, we show customers that we are here and we are at work. We see it as a good marketing tool. Though the attendance is a bit weaker than last time, it's nothing to prevent us from coming to the event. Overall, we are satisfied.

Marcus Kramer, Business Manager, Chr. Höver & Sohn GmbH & Co. KG Leppe Edelstahl, Germany
We are participating in Stainless for the first time. And to be honest, we didn't come here with predetermined expectations. But I can say that the first day has been very good for us, we met clients from all over the world. I see this as one of the advantages of the fair, since I can have meetings with customers in one place. As for our continued participation, it is too early to conclude. When I get back to the office, I'll make an evaluation of the event, and then we'll see.

Marc Verbeeck, Sales Representative, Helaxa, Belgium
Participation in the event met our expectations, we are satisfied with it. We are pleased that our regular customers stopped by to see us at our stand. We do not have any reservations regarding the organization of the trade fair, and we are sure to come to the next edition of Stainless.

Izabella Suchorzynska, Marketing Manager, NOVA TRADING, Poland
We have been participating in Stainless since its first edition. This year we are again very satisfied with the number of clients who came to see us, and we invited a lot of them ourselves. All our sales representatives are busy. We don’t just focus on the Czech and Slovak markets, and thus we like the fact that our customers also come from Germany, Austria, Croatia or Belarus. We meet all of them at one time in one place. In short, participating in the event has many advantages for us.

Birgit Asmus, Sales Department, Damstahl, Germany
It's ok, fewer people than the last time. The problem is, it's in Milan. We're not unhappy. A lot of customers, it's fine, it's great to see customers in two days. And we don't have to travel anywhere. We mostly have Czech customers coming, but some are also from Belarus, the Baltic States. It's good to keep in touch, it's better than phone or email.

Jeppe Jensen, Product Manager, Inox, Denmark
The first day was very good for us, we are satisfied with the clients who came to see us. We were here two years ago for the first time, some clients came to see us again, but we also have new contacts. Customers come to us mainly from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland, but there are also a few Russians. Of course, I wouldn't mind if there were more. Overall, however, I see it as a great advantage that there is a stainless steel trade fair in Eastern Europe. I also have to appreciate the organizational side, the people from BVV Trade Fairs Brno did a great job.

Sebastian Krok, General Manager, Hempel Special Metals, Poland
We are satisfied with Stainless as always. I am delighted that we have met with existing clients and we have also gained interesting new contacts. We will certainly not miss the next event.
