Police purchases in 2017: hundreds of millions on cars, uniforms or vests
Police leadership wants to continue the massive renewal of its facilities in the coming year and plans to invest hundreds of millions CZK in new vehicles or other equipment for the police force. During 2017, acquisitions should include beside cars also bulletproof vests, weapons or hand-held laser radars.
IDET, PYROS and ISET 2017: Security Fairs Will Open New Opportunities for Business
Security has become a clear priority these days. At this time of increased risks deriving from new outbreaks of war, terrorist attacks as well as other threats, governments do not hesitate to invest in defense and security technologies. Along with that is growing the importance of the defense industry, which has traditionally a strong position in the Czech Republic. Companies present their new products aimed for security forces at trade fairs, to which the Brno‘s IDET has belonged since 1993.
The Ministry of Defence prepares acquisitions for 22 Billion
The Ministry of Defence plans to spend in a big way this year. They want to ramp up orders worth more than 22 billion Crowns the year. According to a list of major contracts for 2016, which the MoD sent to the government for approval and which is available to our newspaper, army buyers will begin by purchasing twelve helicopters for nearly nine billion, 42 six-wheel armoured vehicles Titus 2.2 billion or eight 3D MADR radars for three billion this year.
A successful cloverleaf of security fairs
During its three days, the traditional complex of defence and security technology fairs introduced novelties by 450 exhibiting companies from 22 countries. The interest in participation corresponded with the current complicated security situation, increase in risks and expected higher investment in defence technology. The 13th International Exhibition of Defence and Security Technology presented 331 companies, a tenth more than two years ago. In three days, its rich offer brought more than twenty-six thousand people interested in advanced defence, security and fire technology to the Exhibition Centre. Visitors came from three dozen countries, more than a thousand among them were from abroad. The Press Centre accredited 162 journalists from eight countries.
Trade Fairs IDET, PYROS, ISET and INTERPROTEC 2015 Launched
The official trade fairs opening was held with participation of Ministers of Defence of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Macedonia and other VIP guests both from the Czech Republic and from abroad. The introductory speeches repeatedly emphasized the significance of investing into high-quality technologies, mainly in the contemporary security situation that has not been improving.

On Tuesday 19 May, the gates of the 13th International Exhibition of Defence and Security Technologies - one of the most important shows of defence technologies in Central and Eastern Europe - are opening in Brno.
